Weekly market update, Jul 11, 2025

Indian equity benchmark indices ended lower this week, weighed down by uncertainty over a potential U.S. trade deal and weak earnings from IT major Tata Consultancy Services. The Nifty 50 fell 1.23%, while the BSE Sensex lost 1.12%. The broader market indices, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap both declined by 1.12% and 0.63% respectively. On sectoral front, all sectoral indices, with the sole exception of Nifty FMCG, closed lower this week.

Looking ahead, In the coming week, Investors will closely watch the key market triggers that are US-India trade deal, Trump tariff news, Q1FY26 earnings, oil price movement and FIIs flows. According to Bloomberg report, the US is aiming to finalize a temporary trade agreement with India that could lower its proposed tariffs to under 20%. Unlike several other countries that received formal tariff demand letters this week, India is not expecting such a notice. Instead, the trade deal is likely to be revealed through an official statement.
